We (finally) made it along to Sweets Workshop in Summer Hill to see local artist John D-C’s exhibition “Haunted House Rock”. As we neared the entrance Monster Mash floated out of the door and we found the walls adorned with, well, what we think was best described by the artist as “retro-a-go-go”.
John’s body of work showed off his amazing illustration, design and even sculpting skills. The collection had his characteristic energy, colour and humour that was pulled together by a narrative about Frankie, the star of the show. The exhibition was presented as a biography of the rise and fall of Frankie – a book in the making perhaps?!
Haunted House Rock finishes on 14 December so get there quick. Other works from John D-C are available in Sweets Workshop’s store and new online store, so don’t forget to check those out as well!
