SIXTEEN @ Somedays

SIXTEEN was Jackson Eaton, Pedro Ramos, Luke Byrne, Ward Roberts, Oliver Bryce Yates, Sam Ash, Sam Stephenson, Brett Chan, Leon Batchelor, Gene Eaton, Tony Mckey, Ross Jenkinson, Sam Chiplin, Joe Coleman, Ryan Kenny and last but not least Jacinda Fermanis who pulled this bunch together and curated the show.

Its been a while since we trod the decks at Somedays. She’s had a face lift since we were here last, but there was something undeniably familiar about shouldering our way through the packed room of scenesters and spotting Somedays’ head honcho Mattias  (blue hat) mingling in the corner.

So now to the art. There was huge variety in the technique and subjects that each artist used. Considering the diversity the show was well presented in the space.

The gallery was broken up into separate spaces for each exhibitor.

Rocky Mountains - Jackson Eaton, 2009.

Flaming Gorge - Jackson Eaton, 2009.

Untitled - Gene Eaton.

We loved jumping from ethereal landscapes, to portraits, then to travel documentary.

Untitled - Ross Jenkinson.

…Just noticing how many “untitled” work there are… come on guys, if in doubt try this title generator.

Great crowd. Although Somedays never has trouble getting the locals on board for their rowdy openings. You wont be sipping on $5 goon at this particular establishment.

Farewell for now.
