100 Bedrooms – Ellen Disaster @ Kind Of

This was our first visit to Kind Of Gallery… apparently we’re the last people in Sydney to catch on because the place was packed. Like, seriously packed. Like, totally, like.

100 Bedrooms was part of the Head On Photography Festival. The project took Ellen Disaster into the bedrooms of 100 friends and strangers to catch intimate portraits of them in their most personal of places.

Each photograph was printed by hand in black and white. The exhibition really was beautiful and some of the photos quite touching. Despite the crowd, we muscled our way along each wall to examine the small prints and admire the detail and honesty of these portraits.

The exhibition continues until Sunday 27th May. Check it.

I was lucky enough to be both part of the exhibit and there on opening nice and I was stunned at both the effort involved and the result. Lovely work from Ellen Disaster.
